At Dagger we go about the service we provide to our clients and colleagues a little differently. Typically this is called Account Management. But Accounts are transactional things not relationships. And management is the process of dealing with or controlling things or people. We prefer to call our practice Business Leadership. As business is a living, breathing and changing relationship that drives success for the agency. And leadership is the key criteria that guides business in a successful manner.
So instead of Account Director we say Business Director.
Dagger is looking for a Business Director to add to our fast-growing team. This person will be responsible for managing key agency accounts, which consist of global and national brands. Through a keen understanding of our clients’ business and digital marketing, this role will build critical consultative relationships with clients, becoming a trusted and valued partner. With exceptional problem-solving, communication and leadership skills, the Account Director will lead and grow the Dagger business within a client portfolio.
Creating and maintaining strong client relationships and improve the health of our client's business
Collaborating on strategic direction for account and work streams
Owning point of view development for clients, with an emphasis on digital and social marketing channel expertise
Development of briefs
Ensuring the right resources are allocated on account projects through deep collaboration with project management
Leadership, clear direction, motivation, and management of junior team members
Helping develop accurate and thorough Statements of Work alongside program management. Have a solid understanding of what it takes to get the work done and develop a solid grasp of the impact of changes to scope, responsible and timely communication of changes and issues
Assist in new business pitch preparation
Represent Dagger in all cross-functional agency discussions.
Communicate client business updates and opportunities to Dagger leadership.
Experience and Qualifications:
10 years of experience in digital marketing
Digital agency and B2B experience is a must, e.g., social, paid social media, content, measurement, influencers, mobile, etc.
Must be strategic; high level of strategic thinking to assigned accounts
Strong understanding of client’s business and challenges and consistently look for ways to bring valuable solutions
Ability to probe, identify potential opportunities and begin to develop successful, compelling innovative solutions
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
Excellent client-facing skills and passion to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients
Excellent organizational skills, ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
Bachelor’s Degree (Marketing, Advertising, or Business preferred)
A sense of curiosity, creative thinking, and an eye toward emerging trends
Strong analytical, strategic abilities
Creativity, inventiveness, imagination, and vision
Natural leadership, decisiveness, excellent management skills
