At Dagger we go about the service we provide our clients and colleagues a little differently. Typically this is called Account and Project Management. But accounts are transactional things. And project management often involves linear processes that don’t require on-your-feet problem-solving. And, let’s face it, very few agencies have successfully defined the roles and responsibilities of their AMs and PMs causing all kinds of headaches.


Here, we are all in one department called the Client Team and have developed our own approach to client services. We have established team members on the Client Partnership side (aka Account Management) and the Client Delivery side (aka Project Management) but we also have team members that act as the foundation for our department and support the team in whatever way they can. 


So rather than saying Account Manager or Project Manager, we simply say Manager, Client Team.


The Manager, Client Team is the Swiss Army Knife of the department. You may lean more to the traditional PM side, or you may lean more to the traditional AM side. We honestly don’t have a preference, as long as you are the type of person who isn’t above any task required to get the job done. This person will team up with Partnership and Delivery Leads and perform a critical role in getting work through the agency efficiently and impeccably from start to finish. That means internal and client-communication, project scheduling, brief writing, budget management, reviewing work and getting everyone involved excited about it. 


The right person for this role thrives in the fast-paced agency environment, understands how work gets done and what their clients are looking for. This person may not be 100% sold on a traditional AM or PM track quite yet in their career - and that’s OK! The career trajectory for this role can be either and it’s Dagger’s goal to expose you to as many opportunities that help you hone your skills and make a confident decision.

You Will Be Accountable For:

  • Creating and maintaining strong client relationships based on a strong grasp of their business needs and progress of different work streams
  • Applying agency methodologies, standards and best practices across all accounts and projects 
  • Creating and managing individual project estimates, project plans, and resource plans, utilizing appropriate tools
  • Facilitating discussions in order to clarify strategic requirements and complex ideas
  • Clearly communicating project team assignments and expectations based on scope, project briefs, and client expectations 
  • Ensuring quality checks are performed on all deliverables prior to client reviews


You Are Capable Of:

  • Exhibiting a solid understanding of client business and challenges and consistently look for ways to bring valuable solutions and strategic thinking to his/her assigned business
  • Demonstrating practiced organizational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at once
  • Translating client requirements into actionable plans using the appropriate project management tools with minimal supervision
  • Learning new concepts quickly, easily making connections among previously unrelated ideas, and enjoying the challenge of unfamiliar tasks
  • Collaborating with project team members and Department Leads to create solutions to difficult client or project-related problems 
  • Representing proficient (written and verbal) presentation skills
  • Being seen as a self-starter, high energy, assertive, take-charge personality who would be described by colleagues as “proactive” 
  • Showing calm under pressure
