Dagger is looking for a Group Media Director to lead our fast-growing, ambitious media arm. As a seasoned media enthusiast, you’re well-versed in digital and traditional media landscapes, with a laser focus on translating your expertise to clients’ business goals. You’re keenly able to balance leading, mentoring and nurturing a team with servicing clients with a high degree of excellence. With no ego, you’re part visionary, part coach, and part practitioner -- flexing up and flexing down to elevate the team when needed.  This role will have high interaction with leadership, while fostering integration and communication across all departments and partner agencies.

You are accountable for:

  • Establishing and executing the overarching vision for Dagger’s growing media practice
  • Leading and equipping a team of media professionals across digital and traditional media, paid social, search, and programmatic media to effectively plan and buy all program components
  • Interfacing with Dagger leadership on department strengths, opportunities, and threats
  • Partnering with strategy, data strategy and creative teams to drive best-in-class integrated solutions and report on performance insights / recommendations 
  • Building, maintaining and growing key client relationships and client business
  • Being the main point of contact for senior clients across key accounts
  • Overseeing, and at times authoring, a variety of media documents including timelines, POVs, RFPs, audience segmentations, plans, and agreements 
  • Continually improving delivery processes 
  • Stewarding the development of team members through coaching and mentoring
  • Collaborating on new business opportunities, including responding to RFPs, driving pitch strategies, scoping and pitching


You are capable of:

  • Applying your successes and experiences in media planning and strategy to an integrated and cross-functional team
  • Inspiring your team to think of new, unique and unexpected solutions 
  • Owning a room and gaining consensus and support from C-suite and senior leaders
  • Maintaining knowledge of current online media trends and emerging technologies
  • Pivoting based on changing needs of clients and current marketing climate without losing a sense of the greater goal
  • Wearing multiple hats with a go-getter attitude and managing competing priorities
  • Building business cases for media platforms and tools for clients and the agency



  • 12+ years of integrated media planning experience 
  • 9+ years of management experience, including building and growing teams
  • Proven leadership qualities and the ability to hire/ coach strong support staff
  • Proven experience in leading a broad spectrum of clients (size, category and results)
  • Working knowledge and expertise in media planning 
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written skills
